Programs

It is our goal to teach a variety of useful life skills to those involved with the Widow's Might. Skills that will give these woman and opportunity to earn an income to provide for their families.

·      Sewing classes will provide knowledge to sew local clothes for everyday wear and school or to produce items that can be sold to tourists.

·      Business classes will provide the necessary skills to market produce or to start a small store in the village where items sold could include farm produce, necessities from larger towns, and various handmade goods.

·      Hygiene & First Aid classes will teach basic first aid, the importance of hand washing and the ways in which AIDS/HIV is transmitted.

·      Language classes will teach Portuguese, the national language, along with basic math, reading and writing. Those who can only communicate orally and in a tribal language limit the interactions available.

·      Bible Studies and Prayer Groups will be an opportunity to speak Godly truth into peoples’ lives. There will be time to read Bible stories, pray and sing. Discipleship will occur as relationships are built.

·      Parenting classes will encourage parents as they raise their children.

        Farming & Animal Husbandry will provide nutritious food for families as well as a way to earn an income selling excess produce.
